Cottonwood Canyon Road is only a couple
miles in length. It winds up through rugged
canyons and ends at the Cottonwood Pass
Trailhead. There are a few primitive camping
areas along the road and at the Trailhead.

There is a great campsite about 1/4 mile
before the trailhead. There is a short, but
steep grade down the shoulder of the road.
The road to the camp had been damaged
by crazy 4x4 vehicles making deep ruts.

Cottonwood Charcoal Kilns

Hwy.395 south from Cottonwood Road

Cottonwood Charcoal Kilns are just down
the road from Cottonwood Canyon. Very
interesting, but hard to get good photos
because the kilns are surrounded by chain
link fence.
