DIRECTIONS:
From I-10/ Exit 168.
(5 miles west of Chiriaco Summit)
Take Box Canyon Road west about 15 miles.
Turn right on Painted Canyon Road.
From Mecca go east on 66th Ave.
Turn left on Painted Canyon Road
(About 5 miles from Mecca)
ROAD CONDITIONS
Washboards and soft shoulders...
Stay on main road and hard packed
surfaces. There are areas of loose sand
and would be easy to get stuck if not
cautious. There is a turnaround area
at the end of the road.

4x4 vehicles recommended, but we have
seen recreational vehicles, trailers, and
passenger cars. Be aware of weather
conditions.
