Grasslands in Badlands National Park
Buffalo in the Campground
On this occasion there was a herd of buffalo
hanging out in the campground. You always
see a couple buffalo along the road sides and
with luck might see the whole heard.
Buffalo
Entrance Sign
One of the few National Parks with free camping
and campgrounds. There is an entrance fee when
entering the park, but if you have a National Parks
Pass, you are good to go or you can cheat the
system if driving in from the south where there
are no entrance booths. The first couple times
we were here, always entered from the south,
didn't realize there was an entrance fee, but we
did have a National Parks Pass.
Antelope
We found some old piles of flint chips,
that were left from Indians making
arrowheads. When asking the Rangers
about these piles of flint, they acted like
we forgot to take our Prozac, not even
interested to know the location... look
for hills and ridges that have good views
overlooking fertile hunting grounds. The
Indians would sit up here and while waiting
for dinner to walk by, used the time making
arrowheads, leaving the piles of flint. Some
piles are 2 to 3 feet high.

Located in South Dakota.
There are a lot of tourist attractions in the
area, from Mount Rushmore, Wind Cave,
and don't forget about Sturgis Motorcycle
Rally. There is Wall Drug Store and too
many other places to list.
