| PORTABLE AIR COMPRESSOR AND TIRE REPAIR KIT It should be recommended to carry a 12 volt portable air compressor and tire repair kit in your vehicle when out in the back woods. More often than not, we have helped other people with flat tires in the back country than on our own vehicle. It should also be noted that since carrying a portable air compressor we have never had to put on or use the spare tire. In most cases just inflating the flat tire was good enough to drive into town and have a professional service preform a permanent repair. Besides auto tires, you can inflate bicycle tires, air mattresses, balls, ect. When using a compressor it should be turned on and running before connecting and disconnecting the air hose to the tire valve stem. It is recommended to use a second tire pressure gauge to verify proper inflation. We don't make recommendations to particular brands. At present we have a SUPERFLOW MV50 that was purchased at Auto Zone for $79.00 a couple years back and it works good. It has a cable that easily connects to a 12 volt battery. Most portable air compressors do not have tanks, so they can inflate tires, but will not work with air powered tools or paint guns.
