Camping on top of Loggers Butte,
you have an amazing 360 degree view,
including Diamond Peak.

There is a picnic table and a little outhouse
with a couple bullet holes. Bring your own
toilet paper.

This was the old Lookout before it was relocated
to the present day Warner Mountain Lookout.

Take Road#439 past Warner Mountain Lookout
and just before the junction of Road#2120, there
is an unmarked road to the right. About 1/4 mile
you see the big rock. It looks like the road might
end, but it keeps going along the cliff face, winding
it's way to the top.

Warner Ridge lookout is a working fire lookout.
Visitors permitted between 8am - 5pm
Except during lightning and fire conditions.
Lookout is rented November - May

About a mile before Warner Mountain Lookout
is Road#W5209. It is 3/4 mile long and leads to a
mountain lake. About as perfect as it gets. There
is a small campsite.

This section is kind of dangerous.

The road to the summit of Logger Butte

DIRECTIONS:
From Oakridge
Take Hwy.58 east about 2 miles
Turn south on Road#23
Go 1/2 mile to the junction of Road#21
Take Road#21 / Diamond Drive for xx miles
Turn on Road#2129 / Youngs Creek Road
Go towards Warner Mountain Lookout.
Take Road#439 past Warner Mountain Lookout
Just before the junction of Road#2120
There is an unmarked road to the right.
Logger Butte about 1/2 mile on this road.

From Road#23
Take Road#2120 about 10 miles
Turn at the junction of Road#439.
The turn to Loggers camp is about
100 yards up Road#439
Turn to the left

ROAD CONDITIONS:
Not recommended for RVs or trailers
Narrow road and limited turnaround.
Road is not maintained for snow and ice.
Extreme winter conditions possible.

The old road at Sand Prairie Campground
is probably a portion of the Wagon Road
constructed in 1865-66

There are several other established
campgrounds that are not listed...

There is a nice little camp on Highway 58, east from
Oakridge at milepost 42. There is a creek and moss
covered trees, feel right at home.

We were parked when a bear came into
the camp. He was more scared of us and
ran up the tree. Photo is dark and blurred,
because of low lighting conditions..
